Shower leaks have a way of sneaking up on you. What starts as a small drip or a damp spot on the ceiling below can quietly turn into rotted subfloor, mold, or serious water damage - all before you ever realize something is wrong. We see it more often than you'd think.
This one was a shower drain connection that wasn't holding a proper seal. The leak was working its way down through the subfloor and into the framing below. Not catastrophic yet, but left alone? It would have been a much bigger repair bill down the road.
We got in there, pulled back what we needed to access the drain assembly, and resealed everything the right way. The drain flange is now properly set and secured against the subfloor with a tight connection to the drain pipe below. Clean, solid, and built to last.
That's really the goal with any plumbing repair - not just stopping the leak, but making sure the fix holds. Part of what we do during jobs like this is a quick diagnostic check of the surrounding area to make sure there aren't any other issues waiting to surface. It's a simple step that saves homeowners a lot of headaches.
If you've got a shower that's been acting up - slow drain, musty smell, soft flooring near the base - those are all signs worth paying attention to. A small repair handled early is always better than a big one handled late.
